Frequently Asked Questions About Onyx Kitchen Tiles

Are onyx-effect tiles good for kitchen splashbacks? Plus

They can be a strong choice where you want the splashback to become a focal point. Check the individual product specification for wall use.

Do onyx tiles work with wooden kitchens? Plus

Yes. Warmer amber, cream and mineral tones can sit naturally with oak or walnut, while cooler onyx colours create more contrast.

Can onyx-effect tiles work with a patterned worktop? Plus

They can, but if both surfaces have strong movement, the result may feel busy. A quieter onyx design can give a patterned worktop more space.

Can onyx-effect tiles be used on kitchen floors? Plus

Some can. Always check the individual product specification for floor suitability and the intended room use.

Can I order onyx kitchen tile samples? Plus

Yes. Free samples let you compare the tile’s dominant colours and finish directly against cabinetry, worktops and handles.

Use onyx where the kitchen needs a focal point

A kitchen already has strong lines through units, worktops and appliances. Onyx effect adds a different kind of movement: softer, broader and less geometric. That makes it useful on a splashback or larger wall where the cabinetry is relatively restrained, and the tile can take a more expressive role.

If the units or worktop already have a strong pattern, a lower-contrast onyx design will usually sit more comfortably alongside them.

Pick up one colour, not every colour

Onyx-effect tiles can contain several tones within one surface. You do not need to match them all. Choosing one dominant note to echo in cabinetry, handles, timber or paint is usually enough to make the scheme feel connected.

Warmer cream and amber designs can work naturally with timber and brass, while cooler blue, green, grey or white palettes create a different relationship with black, chrome and cleaner cabinetry.

Browse the onyx collection

Browse Onyx Wall Tiles for splashbacks and vertical features, Onyx Floor Tiles for larger underfoot areas, or return to Onyx Tiles for the full collection. Onyx Bathroom Tiles carries the same material language into wet-room schemes. On a splashback, the colour becomes a concentrated feature between the units; across a floor, it influences the palette of the whole kitchen and any adjoining space.
